This year, Clinique Générale-Beaulieu celebrates 20 years of robotic surgery. Back on this success story with the story of a robot, the da Vinci in the field of urology.

In March 1999, two urological surgeons, Drs Richard Gaston from Bordeaux and Charles-Henry Rochat from Geneva, collaborated to carry out at the Clinique Générale-Beaulieu the first operation in Switzerland for prostate cancer by laparoscopy, an operation via an instrument optic equipped with a camera and a light introduced through a small skin incision. The logical continuation of this friendship was to turn to robotics as soon as it was established in Europe.
